My diagnosed neurodivergent child is amazing on trips, but it's my other child who needs all the TLC. I would say most of the conflicts are around food (and walking for a long time), so I love the tip about packing shelf stable food. Next trip, I am bringing instant ramen!! I'd love tips for getting kids to walk for longer distances than normal LOL. Maybe bringing along a new/fav pair of shoes?? HALP!

It's so nice to hear that your ND child is amazing on trips! That is so wonderful and makes life easier for everyone! I totally believe that the list Frankie shared is helpful for all kids (and all people for that matter!). Have you tried getting a digital camera for your child? Using chat Gpt to make you a scavenger hunt for the city you're visiting? Use an Apple Watch to track steps? My kids compete over who walks steps. They literally will walk in place or ask to run around after dinner just to get more steps in!

Such good ideas! Only one kid remembered their watch for tracking steps on our most recent trip, ugh. Mom fail for not checking. There's always next time! And, I hope it didn't come across as insensitive that I said how amazing it is to have a ND child who does well on trips. If it did, I apologize to all the families who are struggling! I agree 100% that Frankie's list can help everyone! I personally am a fan of taking a big rest midday :)

I didn't read it that way! Kids are all different and we have to celebrate ease when we can!
