What the class on booking a $10K+ trip on points is really about
And how much money it can actually save you.
When I say things like, “you may not be able to comprehend how much money this can save you”, I feel paranoid that it sounds like a phony sales pitch. And because I am always overly self-conscious I have to qualify this all by saying the following:
YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO COMPREHEND HOW MUCH MONEY THIS CAN SAVE YOU…
…and the reason I can say that with confidence (and not phoniness) is because just a few years ago, I was you (or at least some of you!).
I heard people talk about points and miles and thought that my spending at the time would never be enough to earn enough to do much with. I felt so confused and overwhelmed by the entire world of points and miles that I didn’t even know where to start.
I saved all our points for two years and got ONE trip. For our family of 4. To St. Thomas.
And it was the first trip we took where I closed my computer, left my team in charge of my music education company (my other company! The one I founded 15 years ago!) and actually took a vacation. It was also the first time I realized that I could travel more — IF we could afford it. My kids were getting bigger, my work schedule more flexible, travel more expensive by the day and it dawned on me that it was worth my time to figure out the world of points.
And it was the first time I did something that felt really counterintuitive — I put my Delta card in the drawer and stopped putting spending on it regularly. I switched to a better card, learned the ropes, became obsessed, and the rest is history :)
And because I can’t help myself, and because I am an entrepreneur, a creative and a teacher above all else, I started this business to teach other people how to travel more — for less. My focus is on teaching families how to travel more without spending crazy amounts of time going down all the rabbit holes I did. I offer expert advice that shortcuts a lot of the info for you. And as a long time teacher, I’ve found a lot of success in helping other people learn this stuff quickly.
So, while in Costa Rica, last week (Costa Rica Edit coming soon!) I had an idea for a new class offering: How to Book a $10K+ Trip on Points. And for the last week I’ve been working on it pretty non-stop. It’s very thorough and helpful and full of so much detail that I think you’re going to be like, WHOA!! And I think you’ll love it.
So, this is not an aggressive phony sales pitch. This is to say, that this class could actually change your life (spoken without any phoniness!). And save you MUCH more than $10K.
This is the class…
You can sign up here! And don’t forget it you are an annual paid subscriber, you get 50% off using the link and code from this email.
I’ve had some questions about what the class tomorrow will cover and the format etc., so I thought I’d share some info here for you all!
It’s Monday 3/3 at 1pm ET.
It will also be recorded so if you register, you’ll get to watch it on your own time if you can’t make it live. It’s in the middle of a work day so I 100% do not blame you for not coming live! And you can register after the class is over to watch the recording as well using the same link!
It’s for literally everyone. It’s for you if you’re trying to book a cheap hotel by the airport or a 5 star hotel in Sardinia. It’s for you if you only have one credit card without any points AND for you if you have 10 cards and have been hoarding points for years.
It’s about booking hotels and flights. And saving you a lot of money.
In the class I will talk about some of my favorite redemptions, award fares to look out for AND give you a solid sample strategy to earn over 750K points over the next year without spending more than you already spend on your credit cards.
The class will break down trips my family has taken, show how and why we booked them and teach you how to do the same for your family.
You will learn how valuable points are.
It has info that is not covered in any of my other classes, 1:1s or the substack! It’s new content! And it’s great.
You’ll hang out with me and a group of other awesome family travelers for an hour! And get to ask questions at the end!
Register here.
Looking forward to seeing many of you tomorrow (or emailing with you after you watch the class if you watch the recording and have Qs!).
From my traveling fam to yours, thanks for being here!
