My kids were 6 & 8 when the pandemic started to lift and we took our first big trip abroad.
Pre-pandemic, we still traveled quite a bit, but we’ve really picked up the pace in the last few years. Perhaps you have small kids and traveling at all feels like A LOT. We didn’t always travel as much as we do now! Everyone should go at their own pace and do what works for them.
My hope is that my thoughts, tips and intel about travel help you to envision a trip you want to take and make it happen - whether that’s 5 trips a year or one (or one in 5 years!). Your family does things your way and that’s perfect.

And now…the details of how to share a hotel room with kids :)
Pre-pandemic we’d go to DC, Detroit, Montreal and the Virgin Islands to see family, often times staying at hotels. I’m such a type A planner (surprise!) and always do as much research as I can about a hotel before a trip. Somehow still, we’ve been surprised many times and I’ve learned over the years some tricks of the trade that really help us manage with 4 in a room (or suite if we’re lucky!) and have allowed us to book just one room instead of two. This has saved us a lot of points and money over the years.
Read on for 13 tips including one that has saved us thousands of dollars — and hundreds of thousands of points — the counterintuitive strategy that helps us get more upgrades and a solution that helps everyone sleep in!
